Teacher

Lucy began her teaching journey when she was dancing in the New Zealand Dance Company, teaching seminars and workshops across New Zealand and Europe. 

 

Since, Lucy has taught contemporary technique regularly at the UNITEC dance programme and their Winter Workshops.

For five years, Lucy taught at The Dance Studio, teaching Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary and competition work. Lucy has worked at most dance schools across Auckland and is passionate about passing on her knowledge to the younger generation.

Lucy was the regular contemporary tutor at the prestigious Papillo Friday School, working with exceptionally talented young ballet dancers who have since gone on to join ballet companies around the world. 

​

Lucy works as a mentor, tutor and choreographer for a handful of incredibly talented young dancers, all who have won multiple awards performing her choreography both here and overseas. Her solo choreography has won gold on multiple occasions at the prestigious YAGP and Alana Haines Awards. 

​

Alongside her teaching, Lucy is known as a regular dance judge and examiner across Auckland.

​

Lucy also works with professional dancers, and was the regular professional contemporary teacher for The New Zealand Dance Company open classes and is a regular teacher at Independance.
